The US Congress has been attempting to produce a major water reclamation funding bill nationwide. HR429 and HR5099 is legislation that defines specific users groups and quantities of water that may be used by the urban water users. One of the major projects in this legislation will be the completion act for the Central Utah Water Project. The Central Valley Project of California is another one of the bills to be funded in HR429 and HR5009, the Water Reclamation Act. Several significant occurrences are being implemented with this completion act. One is to designate a local agency to manage the project. Another is to allow various consultants to perform the engineering services previously performed by the Bureau of Reclamation. Text of the two bills is presented.
