Managing the operations of any water treatment facility requires access to knowledge about the system. Many organizations' information systems are geographically separated. Web technology offers the facility operator much more than just links to Internet web sites. The web browser environment can be used to bring a variety of information systems together and allow you and your staff to get to the information you need to do your jobs, quickly, efficiently, and cost effectively. The Sierra Pacific Power Company's Operations Division continues to develop its online information system to better provide up-to-date information to its operations staff. This paper briefly outlines some of the efforts employed at the Chalk Bluff Water Treatment Plant in Reno, Nevada.
