This standard covers carbon dioxide (CO2) for use in recarbonation and pH adjustment in water supply service. The main purpose of this standard is to provide purchasers, manufacturers, and suppliers with the minimum requirements for carbon dioxide, including physical, chemical, packaging, shipping, and testing requirements. The major revisions in this edition of ANSI/AWWA B510 include the following: The format has been changed to reflect current AWWA style; The acceptance clause (Sec. I.C) and the definitions of parties (Sec. 3) have been revised to approved wording; Editorial revisions have been included throughout the standard; The OSHA and NIOSH exposure levels for carbon dioxide have been updated to current requirements (Sec. II.A); A new grade I for liquid carbon dioxide has been added (Sec. 4.3 and Table 1); and Package shipments for 400-lb (181-kg), low-pressure liquid cylinders have been added (Sec. 6.2.1).
The addendum to ANSI/AWWA B510-95 Standard for Carbon Dioxide revises or replaces Page vi, Sec. I.C; Page viii, Sec. III.A; and Page 2, Sec. 4.3.
