This standard covers type I and type II asbestos-cement pressure pipe in nominal pipe sizes from 4 in. (100 mm) through 16 in. (400 mm) in pressure classes 100, 150, and 200. The pipe is intended for the underground conveyance of water in water distribution systems. The pipe is intended for use in water distribution systems having relatively unpredictable flows and many appurtenances that do not permit reasonable hydraulic analyses, including that for surge pressure.
