This standard covers self-tapping saddle tees, hereafter referred to as self-tapping saddle(s), molded from polyvinyl chloride (PVC) material. The self-tapping saddles are for use with PVC water pipe described in ANSI/AWWA C900, having cast iron outside diameters (CIOD) and are for self-tapping saddles designed for iron pipe size (IPS-OD) PVC water pipes in nominal sizes 1 1/4 in. through 8 in. (32 mm through 200 mm). Section 1 discusses scope, purpose and application. Sections 2 and 3 list references and definitions. Section 4 discusses requirements including permeation, installation, and materials. Section 5 details test methods and inspection. Section 6 discusses delivery including marking, packaging and shipping, and affidavit of compliance.
