This analysis presents some of the trends of actual practice in municipal SCADA systems and is of interest to those who design and specify systems and others who are working toward the procurement of a system for their utility or municipality. The following trends are presented: municipality population by region; the mix of water, combined with wastewater applications; communications methods used; equipment and total installed costs, and on a per RTU basis; project calendar time; central computer configurations; and remote dial up support for the computers.
