This powerpoint presentation begins by providing a brief overview of the buzzwords "sustainability" and "asset management". The presentation provides a process map for the asset management process. An example of asset management is presented at Clifton Forge, Virginia, which was facing the following challenges: aging infrastructure mostly ignored for 50 years; mounting environmental, public health risks;
ongoing regulatory oversight;
limited financial and staff resources; and,
inadequate technology. Clifton Forge results for water system include the following:
