This standard covers the minimum requirements for glass-fiber-reinforced plastic washwater troughs and launders made by the contact molding process, including flatbottom, round-bottom, and V-bottom troughs and launders. Requirements are included for materials, properties, design, construction, dimensions, tolerances, workmanship, and appearance. This standard also covers the requirements for using general purpose and chemical-resistance resins. These fabrications are used in municipal water supply service and industrial water supply service applications. The major revisions in this edition of ANSI/AWWA F101-96 include the following: the format has been changed to AWWA standard style; the acceptance clause (Sec. I.C) has been revised to approved wording; definitions for cosmetic defect and structural defect have been added (Sec. 3); and, a requirement for labeling fabrications regarding storage has been added (Sec. 6.2).
