Due to the increasing power and decreasing cost of computers, the use of drinking water network models is no longer restricted to highly skilled consultant engineers. Network models can now be used for daily operations, system operations analysis and master planning. Through two examples, this paper demonstrates how successful modeling results were achieved by involving very different people, from an information specialist to a system operations superintendent, and by integrating the model with existing information and control systems. The resulting models are easier to calibrate and maintain, and are understandable by most. Includes 4 references.
