A business-driven Information Architecture is being defined for the Jordan Valley Water Conservancy District of West Jordan, Utah. The architecture will define how to integrate data in current and future District information systems, such as geographic information systems (GIS) and Maintenance Management. This paper describes the data model framework, which defines the major data subject areas of the architecture. The architecture will be the source of future detailed data models which will enable integration of data from both District-developed information systems and commercial off-the-shelf software packages. It will also be the source of data models for decision support (data warehouse) systems. Includes figures.
