Establishing a reasonable distribution of consumption within a water system model is a tedious and time-consuming task that is essential for the success of any analysis or modeling effort. At the Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission in Hyattsville, Maryland, the process of water consumption data manipulation was automated by a series of computer programs and data sets referred to as the water demand software.
