Prepared by the AWWA Committee on Microbiological Problems, this report presents the results of its survey of quality control practices in water laboratories. Two sets of data were extracted from the returns. In one set all the laboratories taking part in the survey are grouped by activity; in the second set, water and wastewater utilities are classified by population served. Specifics covered include sample collection, laboratory pure water, inhibitory residue test, standard plate counts; media storage, temperature, and laboratory equipment. Includes 20 references, tables, photographs.
