This article reviews wastewater regulations in progress under the Clean Water Act (CWA) and other statutes as of December 2007 when the most recent regulatory agendas were released. Proposed rules under development discussed in the article include: armed forces vessel discharge standards; Alaskan cruise ship discharges; effluent guidelines for drinking water supply and treatment; 2008 effluent guidelines program plan; NPDES vessel exclusion vacatur; and, CAFO nutrient management plans. Final rules pending discussed in the article include: peak wet-weather POTW discharges; CAFO Rule; Water Transfer Rule; and, Mercury water quality criteria. Long-term actions plans discussed in the article include: Shore Protection Act regulations; NPDES applications revisions; performance-based measurement system guidance; sanitary sewer collection system framework; PCB test procedures; recodification of effluent guidelines and standards; pretreatment removal credits; and, construction and development effluent limitations standards.
