This article discusses GreenPlumbers USA, a comprehensive
industry response to climate change
and water issues, the program is
open to all plumbers, regardless of
affiliation or association membership.
To actually use the GreenPlumber logo and be referred as a
GreenPlumber involves completing
specific coursework and signing a
separate licensing agreement. The article discusses the five-course accreditation program that is run by the Plumbing, Heating, and Cooling contractors of California Education Foundation, a nonprofit 501(c)(3) corporation. To enhance the technical content of their training and accreditation modules, GreenPlumbers USA recently signed a memorandum of understanding with the International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials (IAPMO) to extract provisions contained within IAPMO's Uniform Codes. IAPMO and GreenPlumbers will also
partner to develop additional programs
and services that will advance
the sustainability goals of both organizations.
