This powerpoint presentation begins by providing a brief overview of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA) Utility Steering Committee. The committee's objective was to develop a sector-wide strategy to
encourage effective utility management and identify, encourage,
and recognize excellence in water and wastewater utility management. Attributes of effectively managed utilities are presented, along with keys to management success. Collaborating organizations have
completed three key implementation tools:
the "Effective Utility Management Primer" to help utilities get started;
targeted performance measurements based on
the attributes (included in Primer); and, an
on-line resource toolbox.
