This slide presentation outlines a project that examined water clogging power reduction by the production of a porous protective layer
easily removed by water backwash. The objectives included:
control membrane fouling (risk management),
and /or increase membrane performances (competition)). The presentation outlines a technical description of the microcoagulation process and provides a schematic of the pilot unit along with listing characteristics of the ultrafiltration (UF) membrane unit. A case study is outlined dealing with direct filtration on surface water (Seine River) that includes: operating conditions; raw & UF water qualities; hydraulic performances; and conclusions of the study. Includes tables, figures.
