This slide presentation outlines a study on Pb release from end-use plumbing components in Seattle Public Schools. The presentation begins with background information on the Seattle Public School District and its issues with water quality. The objectives of this study were: to determine Pb release levels from end-use
plumbing components and fittings in Seattle
Public Schools. The approach included: field sampling - "sequential" sampling indicated
that new end-use plumbing contributed elevated
Pb levels; and,
laboratory testing - conducted to asses the
relative contribution of individual components. Results of both tests are provided and Discussion Topics include: Estimated Range of Pb
Contributions from End-Use Plumbing
Components; and, "Pre-Conditioning" of New
Bubbler Heads. Conclusions and recommendations are given. Includes 3 references, tables, figures.
