This paper details the application of the new National Water Research Institute (NWRI) and the American Water Works Association Research Foundation (AWWARF) Ultraviolet Disinfection Guidelines for Drinking Water and Water Reuse (2000 UV Guidelines) to existing full-scale water reuse ultraviolet (UV) systems. This paper outlines how UV agencies can apply the 2000 UV Guidelines to obtain approval of their UV systems. Demonstration of such work at five UV facilities is presented that include: Dublin San Ramon Services District; City of Scotts Valley; Town of Windsor; City of San Diego - South Bay; and, Olivenhain Municipal Water District.
