A multiple-scale comparison study of ozone contactors was conducted with theLos Angeles Department of Water and Power (LADWP) in early February, 1999. The purpose of the study was to probe bromate formation at different levels of ozonation at each of three contactor scales, and determine the comparability. Two different bench-scale contactors were compared with a pilot-scale contactor and a full-scale ozone contactor. As a comparison to the LADWP study, results of a similar study with a French utility are presented and discussed. Includes 9 references, tables, figures.
