This study focuses on the formation and
stability of organic chloramines upon chlorination and chloramination of DON in natural water. The discussion of materials and methods includes: chlorination of model organic-N compounds; chlorination of natural organic matter (NOM) isolates; and, chlorination and chloramination of natural water. Preliminary results and discussion includes: organic chloramine yields and stability for model organic-N compounds; organic chloramine yields from NOM isolates; organic chloramine yields from natural water samples; and, stability of organic chloramines.
