This powerpoint presentation begins by providing a brief overview of Union Hills Water Treatment Plant (UHWTP) located in Phoenix, Arizona. A project to optimize its
current processes and understand potential process
limitations so that further process upsets may be
averted is presented, and project objectives included: define operational water quality scenarios for
three plant conditions
(normal - turbidity <5 NTU,
stressed - turbidity = ?, and
extremely stressed - turbidity = ?);
evaluate current treatment process limitations; and,
recommend operational strategies and process
improvements to meet water quality and demand
objectives. The objective of this presentation was to
summarize UHWTP source water quality, including
UHWTP Raw Water,
upstream CAP sample locations,
Bill Williams River, Agua Fria River, Colorado River, and
Lake Pleasant. Includes figures.
