This powerpoint presentation presents an AWWARF project titled, "Enhancing Removal of Viruses in Water Treatment Plants Using Zero-Valent Iron" that evaluates the feasibility of using zero-valent iron to remove viruses and natural organic matter in (W)WTPs. The experimental approach involved conducting pulse or step input tests using bench-scale columns packed with sand vs. sand + ZVI. A brief overview of zero-valent iron (ZVI) is provided, along with a summary of reclaimed water test results and water treatment plant samples, and a list of potential advantages of ZVI.
