This powerpoint presentation begins by presenting project objectives which were to provide guidance to assist utilities in their strategic planning,
particularly in addressing emergency preparedness for
a water outage.
Formal deliverables included:
developing a Drinking Water Utility Action Plan for
Providing Emergency Water Supply (Utility Action
Plan); and,
Emergency Water Supply Guidance recommended
strategy for federal/state agencies based on
critical planning logistical needs of the water sector
under the National Response Framework. A brief overview of the National Response
Framework is provided, and the process for developing a Utility Emergency Supply Plan
(UESP) is presented and includes: assess vulnerability and potential scale of outage;
determine target level of service post-event
(quantity and quality); analyze drinking water alternatives and develop
plan; and,
implement plan.
