The requirements of this standard apply to those machine tools classified as power press brakes (hereinafter referred to simply as "press brakes"), which are designed and constructed for the specific purpose of bending material.
Excluded from the requirements of this standard are mechanical power presses; hydraulic or pneumatic power presses; powered folding machines; hand brakes; tangent benders; apron brakes; and other similar types of metal bending machines.
