This standard applies to latex paint for exterior use on primed wood and on masonry surfaces including concrete, brick, cinder, stucco, concrete block, and unglazed tile.
It may be used on unglazed asbestos-cement shingles and siding (Magnesite stucco does not provide a suitable surface for application of this type of paint); however as most asbestos-siding is treated with waterproofing material, at least one year shall elapse before coating with this paint.
Although paint to this standard is not intended for use on metal, it may be used on incidental metal if such surfaces are suitably precoated with primer.
