This standard applies for a dry, granular, free-flowing alkali compound suitable for use in the cleaning or clearing of partially clogged drains.
An alkali compound produced to this standard is designed for the removal of impediments of any material other than cellulosic that restrict the normal flow of water in the drains. The compound shall be safe for use in drains specified in par. 3.4. Attrition of copper piping should be minimal.
