This standard states the requirements for a burnishable detergent-resistant water emulsion floor polish suitable for general application on most non-wood and sealed wood floors. Products to this standard should not be used on unsealed wood, cork or magnesite floors.
The two types of polishes described in this standard are designed for use with ultra high speed (U.H.S.) burnishing machines capable of operating at 1500 r/min. Type 1 is intended for use in non-abrasive traffic areas. Type 2 is intended for use in moderately abrasive traffic areas where more frequent maintenance is required.
The floor polish produced in accordance with this standard should not be used over a polish that does not conform to this standard or to CAN/CGSB-25.21.
