This standard states the requirements for ethylene glycol base engine coolant concentrate.

Caution - Manufacturers of some vehicles with aluminum engine components specify a coolant with added protection from aluminum corrosion in excess of what would be expected for a product to this standard. The vehicle Owner's Manual should be consulted for any specialized coolant requirements.
