This standard applies to tiles or panels composed of an asbestos-cement with adhered or separate or without sound absorbent backing, intended primarily for use in acoustical treatment of building construction. The asbestos-cement shall be a uniform mixture of asbestos, silica flour and Portland cement with or without the addition of curing agents, coatings, pigments or mineral granules. The sound absorbent backing shall be in accordance with CAN/CGSB-92.1-M.
