This method determines the flame spread properties of a textile material when a specimen is supported at an angle of 45° and a flame is applied to its upper surface for 1 s.
This method does not apply to textile products that cannot be tested because of size and/or shape such as shoe laces, textile floor coverings, mattresses, wigs and textiles that cannot be compressed to 6 mm thickness or less by the pressure exerted by the holder clamps.
