Preface:
This is the first edition of Standard C22.2 No. 182.4 (now CAN/CSA—C22.2 No. 182.4),
Plugs, Receptacles, and Connectors for Communication Systems, issued by the Canadian Standards Association under Part II of the
Canadian Electrical Code.
This Standard was prepared by a Subcommittee of the Technical Committee on Wiring Products under the jurisdiction of the Committee on CE Code, Part II and was formally approved by these Committees. It has been approved as a National Standard of Canada by the Standards Council of Canada.
Scope:
1.1
This Standard applies to plugs, receptacles, and connectors for communication systems intended to electrically terminate
(a) communication cords;
(b) communication cord sets; or
(c) equipment that is connected to an exposed communication plant or connected to a telecommunication network in accordance with the
Canadian Electrical Code, Part I.
1.2
The rated voltage-to-ground of plugs, receptacles, and connectors covered in this Standard is 150 V rms maximum.
