1. Scope
1.1
This Standard establishes the metric sizes for structural steel wide flange (W) and H-pile (HP) shapes, welded wide flange (WWF) shapes, super light beams, cold formed channels, angles, and hollow structural sections.
1.2
The sizes given in this Standard should provide a range of pro ducts sufficient for most of the applications in which the use of the products included in this Standard is contemplated. For some applications, particularly large volume requirements for specific end uses, engineering requirements may dictate the need for sizes other than those presented in this Standard. This Standard is not intended to preclude the use of such sizes where they are required. Similarly, this Standard is not intended to preclude the use of other sizes that may be offered by individual producers.
