Scope

1.1

This Standard defines the basic elements of manual, electric, and any other types of wheelchairs and gives terms and definitions for these elements. It also illustrates the dimensions most commonly used to describe the physical characteristics of wheelchairs.

Note: This Standard is not intended to cover all the terms and definitions used when referring to wheelchairs. It is anticipated that by way of amendments to this Standard, further additions will be made when necessary.
