La presente Norma è la parte 4-11 della serie EN 50289.
Essa descrive in dettaglio relativamente ai cavi per sistemi di comunicazione, il metodo integrato di prova di incendio orizzontale (superficiale) per la determinazione della distanza di propagazione della fiamma, della densità ottica del fumo, dell’emissione totale di calore, della velocità di emissione del calore, del tempo di accensione e di incendio di gocce e particelle.
La prova dei cavi avviene in una condizione che riproduce l’installazione effettiva.
