La presente Variante costituisce un'integrazione alla Norma base CEI EN 60512-26-100 del 2010-04, relativamente ai paragrafi 4.5.4.2 e 4.5.4.3.
La Norma base specifica le prove e le misure di interoperabilità e di compatibilità con le versioni precedenti, nonché la configurazione degli ambienti necessari alla loro effettuazione, relativamente allo sviluppo e qualificazione di connettori per trasmissione dati a 8 vie, fissi e liberi. In particolare essa fornisce i seguenti metodi di collaudo:
- perdita di inserzione, prova 26a;
- perdita di riflessione, prova 26b;
- diafonia misurata in vicinanza del trasmettitore (NEXT), prova 26c;
- diafonia misurata lontano dal trasmettitore (FEXT), prova 26d;
- impedenza di trasferimento, prova 26e;
- perdita di conversione trasversale (TCF), prova 26f;
- perdita di trasferimento di conversione trasversale (TCTL), prova 26g.
