La presente parte della IEC 61193 definisce i metodi di registrazione ed analisi dei difetti su circuiti stampati assemblati per saldatura.
Vengono descritti metodi che consentono il confronto tra le prestazioni di prodotti, processi e siti produttivi diversi.
La norma suddivide le registrazioni dei difetti in due categorie di dati espressi in ppm :
- Categoria 1 : comprende dati che permettono il confronto delle prestazioni delle operazioni di assemblaggio.
- Categoria 2 : comprende dati per la valutazione, analisi e controllo dei singoli sottoprocessi.
