La Norma descrive un metodo di misura delle proprietà di lamine dielettriche, nella direzione planare e alle frequenze delle microonde. Essa è stata concepita allo scopo di sviluppare nuovi materiali e progettare dispositivi attivi e passivi a microonde, nei casi in cui la standardizzazione del metodo di misura è molto importante. La norma è applicabile per frequenze comprese tra 2 e 40 GHz e permettività relative comprese tra 2 e 100. Questa prima edizione della Norma cancella e sostituisce la pubblicazione PAS del 2008.
Questa Norma viene pubblicata dal CEI nella sola lingua inglese in quanto particolarmente mirata a settori specialistici.
