This publication provides information on production, storage, transportation, uses and safe handling of carbon dioxide in its gaseous, liquid and solid (dry ice) forms. It includes physical and chemical properties of carbon dioxide and describes its physiology as well as highlighting special hazards that can occur while handling and using carbon dioxide. Various means of carbon dioxide transport, including cylinders, containers, truck and semi-trailer cargo tanks and rail tank cars are described. The publication discusses storage and handling of carbon dioxide in uninsulated cylinders, and insulated liquid cylinders, as well as dry ice.
