The performance of photoluminescent paints for road marking have been evaluated from calibrated camera measurements during four months in outdoor conditions. A method was developed to quantify the performance over time depending on the external conditions (lighting, temperature, rain). Findings confirm the influence of night-time illumination. A simple model is proposed to predict the time during which the luminescent paint is more luminous than a traditional one based on the illuminance averaged during the night.
