Provides an overview of the research team's methodology for identifying four categories of statistically significant practices for improving the predictability of project outcomes: 1) human behavior and organizational culture; 2) project characteristics; 3) forecasting practices; and 4) management processes. Explains how the team developed this Four-casting model and its companion Microsoft® Excel-based assessment tool, a resource to use during a project to find predictability-related practices that need improvement. Also discusses the development of the Predictability Index, a predictability benchmarking tool.
