Summarizes the research team's efforts to determine recommended practices for project portfolio management in construction. Discusses the team's literature review to identify sources of information and data on portfolio management; describes the process for designing a survey of CII and non-CII owner and contractor organizations, based on the literature review. Shows how the team used its analysis of the survey data to select fifteen firms for structured interviews and case studies. Examines the findings on processes and practices, portfolio management metrics, and barriers to portfolio management implementation.
