CLSI GP22-A2 provides the user with definitions, concepts, and methods to achieve continuous
managerial and operational improvement, using five essential, interrelated quality system components:

- quality teamwork a component of the orientation and ongoing training element of QSE:
Personnel;
- quality monitoring a component of the measurement and assessment element of QSE:
Assessment;
- quality improvement a component of the improvement element of QSE: Process Improvement;
and
- quality review a component of the management review element of QSE: Organization.
This guideline includes written and graphic descriptions that clarify these five key, integrated managerial
approaches to CQI.
This guideline is intended for use by all individuals involved in any clinical service including physicians,
nurses, and allied health professionals, as well as laboratory, clinical, and support staff.
