Preface
The manuscripts collected in this volume seek to not only summarize the current state of the art of diagnostics and therapeutics for Alzheimer's disease, but also identify emerging technologies and molecules that show promise as future candidates for the management and treatment of Alzheimer's disease. The authors for this text were invited to participate not only for their distinguished contributions to the field of Alzheimer's disease and other neurodegenerative disorders, but also for their representation of the internationally diverse community that is working to improve the quality of life of patients and caregivers around the globe. This volume aims to bring together insights from the unique perspectives offered by each contributor to provide a resource to the community that may supplement existing knowledge. As a cohesive whole, the makeup of the contributing authors faithfully represents the collective efforts of academia, clinical practice, and the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries that are critical for the advancement of the field of Alzheimer's and related disorders toward definitive diagnostics and medical interventions that not only ease the symptoms of disease, but aim to halt and ultimately reverse the underlying pathology of the disease.
