FOREWORD

This manual, which has been prepared for the benefit of instructors, gives answers to the even numbered problems in Linear Algebra and Ordinary Differential Equations, comprising Volume 1 of Advanced Engineering Mathematics.

In the case of straightforward problems only the answer itself has been given, though where the problems are more difficult outline solutions have been provided in which each key step is described in detail. For convenience of reference, the page numbers in the manual on which the answers to each Section are to be found have been listed in the Contents at the front against the name of the corresponding Section in the book. Not every Section of the book has an associated problem set
