Encouraged by very positive reviews, the authors continue to express the same sentiments as in the first edition preface. We have expanded the text with the addition of a new chapter and added colour to the figures. It is our hope that this text will continue to be the starting point for young orthopaedic surgeons in their own practice of paediatric orthopaedics. Having such a concise outline becomes more important in the digital age when access to small bits of information is immediately available online and via smartphones, but that information is not synthesized into an overarching distillation of the concept and problem, which is so needed by young orthopaedic surgeons. We hope this book will fulfill this need.
