Scope
1.1.1
This standard applies to newly produced illuminating appliances constructed entirely of new, unused parts and materials,
(a) for use with natural gas; (b) for use with propane; (c) for use with butane.
1.1.2
These requirements cover gas-fired lighting appliances intended for either outdoor or indoor installation for attachment to fixed gas piping systems. Appliances approved for indoo r use under this standard are also suitable for use in mobile homes and recreational vehicles when properly installed.
1.1.3
This standard is not intended to cover open-flame illuminating appliances having an input rating in excess of 5,000 Btu per hour (1465 W) per burner.
