1. Scope
1.1
These requirements apply to natural and propane gas-fired packaged boilers.
1.2
The requirements in Part (A) of this Standard apply to package boilers, fire and water tube, steam and hot water, having manufacturer's maximum input ratings in excess of 400,000 Btuh and up to and including 10,000,000 Btuh.
1.3
Part (B) of the Standard includes requirements additional to those of Part (A) and apply to package boilers, fire and water tube, steam and hot water, having manufacturer's maximum input ratings in excess of 10,000,000 Btuh and up to and including 50,000,000 Btuh.
1.4
These requirements apply to a package boiler provided with automatic control devices and designed for automatic, semi- automatic or manual operation.
1.5
A boiler which complies with these requirements shall not be acceptable if it has features which impair the results contemplated by the requirement.
1.6
These requirements do not cover the pressure vessels aspects of the package boiler. Each province requires registration of such under its respective Act.
1.7
These requirements do not apply to vertical flue boilers. Refer to CGA 3.3, Standard on Industrial and Commercial Gas- Designed Atmospherically-Fired Vertical Flue Boilers.
