1. Scope
1.1
This Code applies to the installation of propane fuel system components and tanks on highway vehicles for the provisi on of motive power except when a motor vehicle is manufactured with a propane fuel system that meets the requirements of Government of Canada Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 301.
1.2
Where the term ""propane"" is used, the requirements of this code apply equally to and include any material that is composed predominantly of any of the following hydrocarbons, or a mixture of them: propane, propylene, butanes (normal butane or isobutane) , and butylenes.
1.3
For the purpose of this Code, the requirements contained in CGSB Standard CAN/CGSB-3.14, Liquefied Petroleum Gas (Propane), or CAN/C GSB-3.13, Gas, Petroleum, Liquefied, Butane, apply.
