1. Scope
1.1
This Standard provides minimum requirements for the training of operators for lift trucks Classes 1 to 7 inclusive. Note: Due to the different design of vehicles classified as ""Class 6"", certain Clauses in this Standard may not apply.
1.2
This Standard specifies the general medical and physical fitness requirements for lift truck operators as well as the basic knowledge and skill requirements for the safe operation of the lift trucks and their attachments. Note: Job and/or familiarization training of lift truck operators for particular lift trucks requiring special needs or specialized equipment and/or used in a specific workplace environment ar e in addition to the basic training requirements of this Standard.
1.3
This Standard covers ongoing training, familiarization and upgrading to ensure continued safe operation of the lift truck and its attachments.
