1. Scope
1.1
This Standard applies to insulated pressure wire connector type cable splicing kits for use with underground cables intended for direct earth burial, and for use with conductors rated at 90?C and 600 V or less, in accordance with the Canadian Electrical Code, Part I.
1.2
The cable splicing kits include the following: (a) pressure wire connectors intended for use with conductors of copper or aluminum, or both, in sizes No. 14 AWG to 2000 kcmil copper and No. 12 AWG to 2000 kcmil aluminum; and (b) insulations such as insulating caps, covers, resins, tubing, and tapes that are part of a system for use with specific wire connectors where the seal is made at the conductor.
